Hon. Wally Stiles Minister of Natural Resources
Dear Minister Stiles:
It has come to my attention that DNR is planning changes to the Crown Reserve fishing program. DNR staff indicated camps may potentially be done away with altogether and road access would not be maintained. I have also been informed that DNR is considering the leasing of the camp system to a third party which may charge an additional fee to access the camp associated with the Crown Reserve stretch resulting in increase angler expense for what is now a reasonable cost (as it was originally intended when the Crown Reserve system was established).
Like many New Brunswickers, I am active in traditional outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing, and take my outdoor activities very seriously. I would not appreciate any changes to the current Crown Reserve system and expect to see DNR to continue to administer this program with adequate budget funding and staff allocation. I feel strongly enough about this that I would consider this subject a deciding factor in how I vote in the next provincial election.
Sincerely
cc Shawn Graham, David Alward
